Why you Should Have a Morning Routine

If your current morning routine consists of you hitting snooze 8 times then flying out the door because you’re almost late, you might be in store for a morning routine reboot.

Having a morning routine is the best way to start your day out on the right foot. By beginning every day the same way, it will not only impact how your mornings go but the whole entirety of your week. You’ll start to feel productive, accomplished, and organized; all things that lead to a happy and healthy mind.

I even have my own morning routine consisting of waking up around 4 am, exercising, grabbing my coffee, and journaling. I’ve noticed that doing the same thing each morning, in the same order, gives me a sense of direction and productivity. It allows me to feel organized and ready for the day by going down my list and checking off what I have accomplished. It also provides me with time to reflect and sit down to see what my day has in store for me. I always end up feeling refreshed and ready to conquer the day ahead!

Not only are there mental benefits to having a morning routine, but there are physical benefits too. By implementing a morning routine, you’ll find yourself waking up at the same time every day. This is healthy for your body because it gets itself into a rhythm. It will know when it’s time to wake up in the morning and when it’s time to go to sleep. This will have your muscles feeling refreshed in the mornings, ready for the day, and tired when you are ready for bed.

While it’s important for us to implement a morning routine for ourselves, it is also important to get your kids in the swing of things too. Having your kids create a morning routine for themselves will have them feeling more ready for their school day ahead. It will also promote a sense of organization (hopefully leading them to be organized with their school work too). Having your kids start their day out with a routine will leave the whole family feeling calm and collected rather than rushed and hectic.

TIP! Try implementing a whole family routine. This might be the answer to having less stressful days and weeks if you all start the day happy, healthy, and on the right foot together!
