What does it mean to create and capture the magic moments of life? Magic moments can be found anywhere, whether it’s a real life magic trick, or sharing your love and appreciation with a partner or friend.
I first heard of the concept of Magic Moments at a family mastermind a few years ago, from a motivational speaker and magician named Jeff Kaylor. He had an entire presentation on the topic, and along the way he wowed the crowd with fun jokes and of course, magic tricks. But the biggest takeaway that I got from watching Jeff’s performance was how to create these unforgettable moments in my everyday life, and share them with the people around me. His presentation led me to be more intentional in the way I interact with the people I care about.
So I would like to share with you the ways I have been able to create magic moments in my life, so that you can do the same with your loved ones.
One really special way I’ve learned to share Magic Moments with my friends and family is through photo frames. If I have someone coming to stay at my house, I’ll put some fun pictures of us or their family in picture frames, and put them in the guest room they’re staying in. I’ve even used digital picture frames and included pictures of my guests’ families in them as a gift for them to take to their own homes. It’s an awesome way to look back on some fun memories, and make your guests feel comfortable and at home.
101 Affirmations of Love and Gratitude
For my wife’s 40th birthday, I knew I had to create some magic! The year leading up to her birthday, I spent time compiling a list of reasons I love her, things she did that made me smile, and why I’m grateful to have her in my life. I ended up with 101, so I created a Shutterfly book filled with all of these affirmations, along with pictures throughout our relationship. It was an amazing way to show my love for her, and give her that magical feeling!
Letters to my Future Wife
This is a Magic Moment I was lucky enough to witness. A friend of mine, Sam, had told me the story of how at the age of 14-15, his dad sat him down and talked to him about the importance of the woman he would one day marry. Since then, he would write love letters to his future wife, even though he didn’t know her yet. He would share what he hoped she would be like, and all of the amazing things they would do together. On the day of his wedding, he gifted her a box filled with all of those letters for her to read! It was magical just watching, so I can only imagine the magic they both felt in that moment.
Wimberly Backyard Campout
This past year of Covid has been tough on all of us. So, to make this crazy year a little more magical, we hosted the Wimberly Backyard Campout! We set up a tent and campfire right in our backyard, made some hotdogs and s’mores, and spent the night under the stars. It was such a fun way to leave the stress of the year behind, and have some fun as a family!
These are just some of the ways you can start creating those Magic Moments in your life and sharing them with the people you care about. And hopefully this has inspired you to come up with your own ways of creating Magic Moments as well! This sole concept has done wonders for my relationships and I wish that it impacts your life the same way it did mine.
